The Importance of Knowing What You Own

published on 27 April 2022

Picture it, almost spring time – more specifically, you're in the tail end of winter and about to go through the annual third dose of "fake spring".  During this time, storms seem to always start brewing late into the night when you're fast asleep.  And of course, that one tree in your yard just wanted to see what the inside of your house looks like.

Now thankfully, the damage wasn't too bad.  But your closet was the main focus.  You need to let your insurance agent know how much the contents of your closet cost you because you can only wear that one pair of sweatpants for so long.  But do you know really what you own? How many pairs of selvedge jeans do you have? What about your perfectly tailored suits? Oh, and your wedding dress that you're keeping safe before you get it altered?  Do you also store gifts in there too?  This list can go on and on.

If you didn't keep track of your assets you may quickly underestimate what you'll need to replace what you own.  You get your claims allowance back and when you start to re-buy your damaged items... you can end up with only half of your original wardrobe.  Then you'll wish "past you" would have taken the time to just know what you own.

That's the beauty of the "Assets Peace of Mind".  Though we hope you don't have to, we want you to be able to weather any storm or fire damage.  And though we don't want anyone to be a victim of a robbery-we want you to know what you own and quickly be able to tell what is missing.  With your custom room-by-room inventory locked down, you can quickly download your list of home inventory items and pass along to your insurance agent.  You're able to speed up the claims process and you and your insurance agent and get back to living life.  Visit meetassets.com to get started!
